Serbian Eagles have won six and tied one game since their 1-0 loss to Toronto Croatia on June 13 and Friday’s win follows an impressive 6-3 victory over a slick Brampton Lions on July 24.
Forward Kiril Dimitrov opened the scoring for Serbia with an impressive solo effort at the 39 minutes for 1-0 at the interval. Defender Mark Jankovic made it 2-0 off a corner kick at the 51st minute mark and Sasa Viciknez, who missed a penalty kick at 43 minutes, struck at 56 minutes for a 3-0 lead for the defending CSL champions.
Midfielder Jonathan Hurtis found the net for Serbian White Eagles at 62 minutes to make it 4-0 and Dragan Radovic scored his first of two for the Eagles with a strong drive from an acute angle, to make the score 5-0 at 75 minutes.
Newcomer Verljko Lukovic scored at 85 minutes for a 6-0 Serbia lead and Radovic scored his second just before the final whistle at 94 minutes, a 7-0 final score.
Serbian White Eagles played the last 14 minutes with 10 men following the ejection of defender Mirko Medic by referee John Oliva for elbowing an opponent.
Serbian White Eagles improve their record to 6-1-2 WLT for 20 points following Friday’s win, that now three points behind Toronto Croatia in the International Division, while London City are still searching for their first win with a 0-8-2 record for two points and bottom position in the National Division.
