London City made the long trip to Montreal with the hopes of shaking its three game losing streak.Though the team started off strong at the beautiful Saputo Stadium, Peter Byers who was called up from the Impact Senior team opened the scoring at 21 minutes.
Byers collected a cross and beat two City defenders before driving the ball past London goalkeeper Scott Mueller into the top corner of the net.
Though City pressured for the equalizer and did come close several times, Jackson-Hamel put the game out of reach with goals at 77 and 82 minutes for a 3-0 final score.
It only became worse for the Ontario side when Referee Mathieu Bourdeax dismissed London City’s Stuart Wright at the 80th minute for Serious Foul Play when Wright made a strong defensive tackle.
Montreal Impact Academy improved their record to 3-5-4 for 13 points as a result of the win, while London City are at 1-5-2 for 5 points.
City will return home on Friday July 16th for a clash with the first place York Region Shooters.
